摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the positional precision in the transverse direction of an endless photosensitive belt by reducing coning and creases of the belt in an electrostatic photographic copying machine. SOLUTION: An image forming mechanism of an electrostatic photographic copying machine 8 includes an endless photosensitive belt 10 having an image forming face, on which a toner image is to be formed, and a belt support and carrying secondary mechanism 100 in a coning reduction system which supports and carries the endless photosensitive belt 10. The belt support and carrying secondary mechanism 100 in the coning reduction system includes a mobile steering roll 108 moved in a first direction to the inside of the endless photosensitive belt 10 and in a second direction along the inside surface of the endless photosensitive belt 10 and a mobile tension roll 106 which is moved in a third direction to the inside of the endless photosensitive belt 10 and in a fourth direction along the inside surface of the endless photosensitive belt 10 and reduce coning and creases of the belt by this movement to improve the alignment precision in the transverse direction of the belt.
