PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric steering unit in which the strength of a synthetic resin-made worm wheel for transmitting the rotation of an electric actuator for generating steering assisting force is improved to enable high output of the electric actuator, and the worm wheel is reduced in diameter to achieve space-saving. SOLUTION: The rotation of the electric actuator 8 for generating steering assisting force is transmitted to an axle 6 through a worm 9 and a worm wheel 10. The worm wheel 10 is made of synthetic resin. The relative viscosity of the worm wheel 10 by the formic acid method ranges from 100 to 300.
