PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a private branch exchange system capable of setting a special purpose button corresponding to group incoming and originating to an extension or a line wire by using the button. SOLUTION: A private branch exchange 10 has an incoming group memory 15 capable of grouping and storing extension numbers given to respective extension ports 1, and an incoming destination memory 14 capable of storing incoming destinations for the incoming from the line wire. Respective extension telephones can be registered with respect to their functional buttons. When incoming to the incoming group, the extension telephone belonging to the group displays on a display means corresponding to the button of the group, and transmits a telephone number and a name of the group to an originator side. When incoming by depressing the button, the telephone transmits the telephone number and the name of the group to the originating destination to an incoming person side.
