Determining node point information for motor vehicle navigation system presenting useful information about possible road intersections ahead to driver

Method for generation and output of node point information in a motor vehicle using classification of cartographic data from a traffic network. Node point information is generated by analysis of a cartographic data to determine the traffic relevant properties of the node points. The results of the analysis are evaluated and dependent on the result node point information is provided for a driver. An Independent claim is made for a device for production and output of node point information in a motor vehicle that has a memory unit (16) in which cartographic data is stored. The vehicle also has a positioning unit (14) and a computer unit (10) that determines node point information.
