摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an in-vehicle battery charger that can control charging currents for a battery and can charge the battery in a plurality of different charging patterns. SOLUTION: The in-vehicle battery charger is mounted in a vehicle that runs, by supplying power from a battery 6 to an alternating-current traction motor 7 via a drive controller 8. The battery charger comprises an electromagnetic contactor 3 for alternating-current power supply that is connected with an alternating-current power supply external to the vehicle through a connector 2; a transformer 24 that carries out power conversion, from alternating-current supply voltage/current to battery charging voltage/current; a full-wave rectifier 5 that converts alternating currents into direct currents; and a choke coil 25 that temporarily stores magnetic energy, when the output of the full-wave rectifier 5 is increased to the battery charging voltage. The in-vehicle battery charger has a switching circuit 13 as part of the driving controller 8 used to transmit the magnetic energy stored in the choke coil 25 to the battery 6 and to charge the battery 6.
