<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make inconspicuous "white stripes" or "stepwise stripes" produced on a print image, caused by irregular transport speed of recording paper unclear. <P>SOLUTION: From an image data for certification photograph, consisting of a personal image and the background image, background image color is identified after a background image is extracted. Target tone values are then determined for each color. Prevalence for each tone value is determined from normal distribution, produced by dispersing the tone values larger and smaller, such that the target tone values become the mean values. New background image data are obtained by randomly arranging pixels having respective tone values, based on the above prevalence. The new background image data are then composited with the personal image data. Thus, by randomly changing densities on a pixel-by-pixel basis, the background image, having dispersively disposed pixels of various tone values, is obtained, while retaining the apparent tone. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
