PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image input device which can control so that an image displayed on an object and a projected image do not lose visibility each other. SOLUTION: An image input device 1 detects a margin area which is an area enclosed by an outline of a document P within a photographed area 4 on the basis of image data input and in which an image of the document P is not displayed, and determines whether or not a predetermined shape of an operation button can be projected onto the margin area. When it is determined that the operation button 6 can be projected onto the margin area, the operation button 6 of a reference height HEIGHT 3 is projected onto the document P within the margin area.
