PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amplifier, and a wireless base station and a temperature control method therefor that can raise the temperature of a device without using a dedicated heater nor making a gain depend upon temperature. SOLUTION: A vector control circuit 15 controls the gain of a vector adjuster 3 so that when temperature detected by a temperature sensor 14 is lower than a predetermined temperature, the gain of a variable gain amplifier 101 is larger than a given gain determined based upon a wireless signal S4 outputted from a directional coupler 7. Further, the vector control circuit 15 controls the gain of a vector adjuster 8 so that when the temperature detected by the temperature sensor 14 is lower than the predetermined temperature, a wireless signal S5 outputted from a directional coupler 11 is a signal obtained by amplifying a wireless signal S1 with the given gain determined based upon the wireless signal S4 outputted from the directional coupler 7.
