PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, without deteriorating the granularity of the output image. SOLUTION: An processing method generates image data (image E) 102 from data of even number lines of input image data 101, uses an error propagation matrix A(103) to apply error propagation processings on the generated image E and produces an image EQ (104) after quantization. The error propagation processing method generates image data 105 (image O) from the data of odd numbered lines of the input image data 101 and uses an error propagation matrix B(106) to apply error propagation processings on the image O and generates an image OQ(107) after quantization.
