<p>An optical transmission probe system that can be used in harsh environments in a reaction chamber to measure absorption spectra of material while it undergoes processing. The probe system includes two probes with a gap there between so that one can transmit light to the other through the gap. The two probes are fitted into a housing that also has a gap formed therein to admit the flowing material but hold the two probes rigidly with the correct gap spacing and orientation despite the lateral pressure of the flowing material. Preferably, two probe systems are used in the same chamber and most preferably, two probe systems are used with a reflection probe.</p> |
