A remote control infrared data transmission method of a multimedia device is provided to be capable of supplying a wireless data transmission unit necessary for removing lines from various kinds of input devices for the transmission unit to be applied to the various input devices, thereby extending battery life as improving product performance. A preamble section, a start section, an attribute section, and a data section which are selectively omitted are equipped in components of a packet. The data section includes plural bytes. Each byte consists of 4 bit pairs, and each bit pair is composed of 1 carrier section and 1 space section, respectively. The carrier section includes plural carrier frequency pulses. If an idle section exists between packets or the packet is solely transmitted, the preamble section is not omitted. If more than two packets are consecutively transmitted, the preamble section is omitted.
