<p>The system has a control unit (1), and a sensor or actuator (2) that is attached to the control unit. The sensor or actuator is assigned to a connector (3) for connection to the control unit. A radio frequency identification (RFID) chip (4) is integrated in the connector for storing relevant data of the sensor or actuator. An integrated reader (5) is provided for selection of the data on the RFID chip and for application in the control unit. The connector is firmly connected with the sensor or actuator via a cable. The reader is a component of a module in the control unit. An independent claim is also included for a method of operating an automation system.</p> |
