The fitting (5) has a sensor holder (4) moved in a measuring position. A sensor body (3) is partially immersed in a connecting piece (1) of a process container. A purge chamber (10) formed in a section of the body is attached to cleaning fluid distributing and annular chambers (7, 12) and supply and outlet channels (8, 13). An additional purge flow is provided through a gap (1a) formed between a lower part (3a) of the body and the piece, and through an auxiliary purge hole (17) at an annular gap (14) for additional purging. The gap (14) is formed in the chamber between the part and holder.
