<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilization treatment method which has high heat and treatment efficiencies and enables production of good quality compost by heat sterilization of a fermented compost. <P>SOLUTION: This sterilization treatment method comprises blending a carcareous solid material such as a sea shell in the fermented compost as a heating medium to enable heat sterilization at an adequate temperature in a short time. Further, by separating the carcareous solid material using a sieve and blending it again in the new fermented compost, a heat recycle becomes possible to reduce a re-heating amount, thus enhancing energy efficiency while saving energy. Furthermore, since the calcium content eluted from the activated carcareous solid material during sterilization treatment penetrates into the compost, a fertilizer high in soil pH-adjustment effect can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
