An improved water self-squeezing mop comprises a rod and a plate-type mop head. The rod is connected with the mop head by a universal joint (19), and the rod can rotate to be parallel with the length direction of the mop head and be located in the same plane therewith. A water squeezing device is provided on the rod. The water self-squeezing mop can implement the self-squeezing of a double-sided plate-type mop, and can also implement the water self-squeezing of a single-sided plate-type mop, improving the efficiency of cleaning and squeezing. The mop base can automatically reset to the squeezed state. The production process is simplified and the production cost is reduced.
