PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which suppresses increase in the number of signals to be read out even if there are many photoelectric conversion parts, and implements such phase difference distance measurement that a pupil dividing direction can be switched.SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus comprises: an imaging element 103 including a pixel part for outputting a first addition signal obtained by adding signals outputted from a first group among a plurality of photoelectric conversion parts and a second addition signal obtained by adding signals outputted from a second group that is a part of the first group; an addition signal separation part 105 which subtracts the second addition signal from the first addition signal to generate a third addition signal and outputs the second addition signal and the third addition signal; a phase difference distance measurement part 107 which performs phase difference distance measurement based on the second addition signal and the third addition signal; and an imaging element driving part 104 which changes a combination of photoelectric conversion parts to be included in the second group in order to change the pupil dividing direction for the phase difference distance measurement that is performed in the phase difference distance measurement part 107.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
