PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flux for submerged arc welding exerting favorable welding workability even in any case of AC or DC arc welding and capable of reducing the moisture absorption amount of a flux and a diffusible hydrogen amount in a weld metal.SOLUTION: A flux for submerged arc welding contains by mass, 25-35% of MgO, 15-35% of F in terms of CaF, 10-25% of AlO, 10-20% of SiO, 0.5-6.5% of total of at least one of Na in terms of NaO, K in terms of KO and Li in terms of LiO, 0.5-5% of Fe in terms of FeO, 1-5% of TiO, 6% or less of CaO, less than 2.0% of Mn in terms of MnO, 1.0% or less of water-soluble SiO, 1.0% or less of water-soluble NaO and 0.8% or less of water-soluble KO, and has a composition satisfying the following expression (I).SELECTED DRAWING: None |
