Provided is a medium accumulation and delivery mechanism comprising: an accumulation storage in which an accumulation space for accumulating sheet-like mediums is formed and which is switched between a tilted position and a horizontal position; a releasing unit for releasing the transferred mediums to the accumulation space; a stopper that contacts a front end of the mediums released from the releasing unit; a stage that forms a bottom surface of the accumulation storage, is switched between a tilted position and a horizontal position, and accumulates the mediums released from the releasing unit; a drive source that generates drive force; and a drive mechanism that is driven by the drive source when the mediums are accumulated on the stage in the tilted position, switches the stage and the accumulation storage from the tilted position to the horizontal position, and then moves the stage so as to deliver a bundle of mediums accumulated on the stage.
