An outdoor unit connected to an indoor unit through refrigerant piping is provided with: a housing; a compressor accommodated in the housing; a valve mounting plate located in the upper part of the housing and provided above the compressor; a valve provided on the valve mounting plate and having the refrigerant piping connected thereto; and a terminal base accommodated in the housing and having connected thereto first wiring introduced into the housing from the outside of the housing. The valve mounting plate has formed therein a mounting section on which the terminal base is provided and which connects the upper side on which the valve is provided and the lower side on which a control device is provided.
