A platform (208, Fig 2) provides access to an outer surface of an elongate member (206, Fig 2) such as oil rig legs. The platform comprises a frame which supports a walkway (222, Fig 3) and a roller 432 attached to the frame. The roller 432 has first and second outer portions 438, 440 and an inner portion 436, the diameter of the inner portion being less than the diameters of the first and second outer portions. Preferably, in use, the roller is in contact with an outer surface of the elongate member. Also, the roller may have two points of contact with the outer surface of the elongate member. |
