<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy-saving type sterilizer, capable of efficiently heat/sterilizing an object for sterilization. <P>SOLUTION: The sterilizer 1 comprises a heat pump 10 consisting of a compressor 11, a radiator part 12, a motor-operated expansion valve 13, and a cooling part 14. The heat pump 10 has such a refrigeration cycle having a supercritical pressure on the high pressure side.
