When testing flat glass using the transillumination method, the flat glass is scanned with a flying point of light. The beam impinges on the flat glass at an acute angle opposite to the direction of movement of the glass, under which the receiver is arranged. The receiver is covered by a protective plate which extends essentially at the same angle as the light beam, the protective plate completely covering the receiver, and a slit for the entry of the light beam remaining free only in the side averted from the direction of approach of the flat glass. The receiver itself is covered by a transparent disc which is arranged obliquely and ends in a shaft which, if necessary, receives glass splinters falling onto the transparent disc, which are blown off by a blow pipe. <IMAGE> |
