<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an ejected sheet from sticking to the sheet passage face of each of ejection guide members without using a special material. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus is configured in such a manner that an image reading part for reading the image of a document is disposed in the upper part of the apparatus, an image forming part for forming an image on a sheet is disposed below the image reading part with a space left between them, and a sheet ejection part is disposed in the space formed between the image reading part and the image forming part in the housing of the apparatus. The image forming part includes the ejection guide members which are disposed at both left and right ends of the space in the housing of the apparatus, substantially parallel to the sheet placing face of the sheet ejection part, and restrict both ends of an ejected sheet from above. In the cross-section of each ejection guide member, which is obtained by cutting the ejection guide at a plane perpendicular to the direction in which the sheet is passed, a sheet passage face that contacts the corresponding end of the sheet has the shape of a peak and valley. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
