发明名称 ZINC-BROMINE BATTERY
摘要 PURPOSE:To detect time of completion of discharge surely and accurately by providing at least an electrode with a pair of conductive terminals, connecting a resistance measuring means across the terminals and judging a zinc-bromine battery as being completely discharged when the resistance across the terminals increases more than a specific value. CONSTITUTION:Conductive terminals 56 contacted with an electrode 50 are attached to both side post portions of an electrode frame 54. Connected respectively across the conductive terminals 56 through conductive wires 58 are a constant-current source 60 applying thereto a constant current when discharge is detected and a voltmeter 62 detecting variation of the resistance of the electrode 50. When detecting, the source 60 is turned on to energize the terminals 56 and the variation of the electric resistance of the electrode 50 varying as the discharge proceeds is monitored by the voltmeter 62 as the variation of the voltage across the terminals 56. Quantity of zinc deposited on a negative electrode decreases as the discharge proceeds. Resistance-increase ratio of the electrode 50 suddenly becomes large when the discharge is almost completed. Therefore, complete discharge is recognized when the voltage across the terminals 56 displayed on the voltmeter 62 exceeds a specific value.
