PURPOSE:To retard the shaft rotation to obtain large braking force, make a mechanism compact and increase durability by rotating a rotational shaft, moving a second frictional member, contacted on a first frictional member so that it can be slid, along a specified movement route while rotating the second frictional member sliding on the first frictional member, to slide the first and second frictional members with each other for generating frictional force. CONSTITUTION:As a rotational shaft 6 is rotated in the direction of a and b, an arm 7 is swung in the direction of a' and b', respectively, and a gear 9 is rotated through a rack 8a while moving in arcs along the rack 8a. Each frictional plate 10 integrated with the gear 9 slides on both surfaces 8d, 8d of a bearing 8 and moves along the moving route in arcs while rotating. The sliding friction between the frictional plate 10 and the bearing 8 due to rotation of the plate and to movement of the plate in arcs is applied on the rotational shaft 6 as a load to brake the rotation of the rotational shaft 6. Thus a large braking force can be obtained and durability can be increased. In addition, a space along the axis of the rotational shaft 6 is not necessary and, therefore, the entire mechanism can be made compact. |
