The cable fixing screw for retaining, sealing and tension restraint of an electrical cable or lead has a number of pressure tongues (8) pressed against the outside of the cable or line upon rotation of the screw nut. Each pressure tongue (8) is inclined outwards and has a locking nose (9) fitting in a corresp. channel in the inside pressure face of the nut to prevent reverse rotation of the latter. Pref., the pressure tongues (8) alternate with clamping tongues (7) which are inclined inwards in the direction of the electrical cable or line. ADVANTAGE - High tolerance w.r.t. dia. of cable or lead.
