Phosphonous acid aryl ester amides of formula (I) and phosphonous acid aryl ester amide halides of formula (II). In the formulae, R1 is Ph with 1-3 substits., benzyl, alpha-methylbenzyl or alpha,alpha-dimethylbenzyl (opt. with 1-3 substits. on the ring) or naphthyl (opt. with 1-5 substits.), where at least 1 substit. is 1-8C alkoxy or alkylthio, 6-10C aryl or aryloxy or halogen with atomic no. 9-35 and the other substits. (exclusively with naphthyl) are 1-8C non-aromatic hydrocarbon gps., or R1 is phenylene (opt. substd. by 1-2 non-aromatic hydrocarbon gps. with 1-8C), naphthylene or biphenylene (opt. substd. with 1-4 non-aromatic hydrocarbon gps. with 1-8C), R2 is 1-18C non-aromatic hydrocarbon gp., or aryl or (substd.) arylmethyl, where the aryl is 6-10C, R3 is H or 1-18C alkoxy or alkylthio or a gp. defined under R2, R4, R5 are 1-22C alkyl, 2-21C oxaalkyl or thiaalkyl, 3-18C alkenyl or alkynyl, 3-24C alkoxycarbonylalkyl, 5-12C cycloalkyl, 6-14C aryl, 7-15C arylalkyl or (substd.) 5-17C piperidin-4-yl or R4, R5 and N form a 5-7 member ring, opt. contg. O, N or S linked through C, n is 1 or 2.
