<p>An electrostatic printing apparatus (10) employs digitally controlled imaging conveyors (12) to print monocomponent toners on plain paper (18) in a single pass. Pixel intensity is programmed by associating a counted number of packets (33, 52, 53, 82) of toner particles (34) with each level of pixel depth. Additional embodiments include toner pumping conveyors (74, 84, 111, 131), toner trapping conveyors (89), a self-regulating toner source module (83) and fixed and moving head color printers.</p> |
