METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING LOW THERMAL EXPANSION CERAMIC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a low thermal expansion ceramic capable of firing the low thermal expansion ceramic which includes eucryptite and has an average coefficient of thermal expansion at 20 to 30°C as small as -1x10-6to 1x10-6/°C at a lower temperature and can widen the firing zone suitable for densification.

SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the low thermal expansion ceramic includes a pulverizing process of mixing and pulverizing the eucryptite and one or more materials to ≤2 μm in the primary particles size, a compacting process of press compacting the powder obtained by the pulverizing process and a firing process of firing the compact obtained by the compacting process.
