PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling guide device and guide rail for it which are easy to handle, structured simply, have good durability, ensure a high accuracy, and are easy manufacturable in any desired length. SOLUTION: A guide device for traveling and a guide rail 1 to make relative guidance are contacted with guide rollers 20, wherein the guide part of the guide rail 1 is structured so that a guide ridge 4 having a relatively small triangular section with acute crest is formed on each flank of a rail constituent member, and a guide plane 5 is furnished adjacent to the base of each ridge 4. The inclined edges 25a of one set of guide rollers consisting of two 25, 25 are contacted with the slopes 4a, 4b in such a way as pinching the guide ridge 4 while a minor spacing is reserved, and the contacting range of the two is minimized so that the swing of the rollers 25 in the axial direction is suppressed by the ridge 4, and the peripheral surface of each roller 25 is supported by the guide plane 5 to achieve a correct guidance. |
