<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell power generation apparatus and an operation method thereof which prevents diffusion of a high CO concentration reformed gas into a fuel cell main body, and is low in cost with excellent maintenability. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a reformer 3, a fuel cell main body 1, a waste hydrogen supplying line 19, a reformed gas bypass line 18 having a fuel bypass valve 10, an air introducing line 17 disposed on the supplying line 19 and connected closer to the side of the fuel cell main body 1 than the bypassed introducing part of the reformed gas, an air blower 14 for blowing air into the introducing line 17, and a control device for switching the start and the stop of the air introducing from the introducing line before and after the start of power generation. Before starting power generation, the apparatus introduces the air from the introducing line 17 so as not to introduce the reformed gas containing the high concentration CO into the fuel cell main body 1, and after starting power generation, the apparatus stops the air introducing and supplies the waste hydrogen exhausted from the fuel cell main body 1 into a burner for the reformer 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
