In a process for the continuous preparation of polymers from reaction components, in particular of copolymers of styrene and acrylonitrile, by mass or solution polymerization, the reaction components are passed through a circulation reactor which has at least one tube reactor in which is arranged at least one static mixing element through which a liquid heat-transfer medium flows.
