PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the light variable on a phosphor stripe near the most outside line, and to secure the fixation by overlapping the light, which is reflected from an outer surface of a panel, of the exposure, which passed through an inside slot, with a phosphor stripe part near the most outside line. SOLUTION: Curvature of a panel 4 and a shadow mask 2 is set at infinity. In the case where a distance between an exposing light source 6 and the panel inner surface 4a is expressed with L, a distance between the shadow mask 2 and the panel inner surface 4a is expressed with (g), thickness of the panel is expressed with (t), refraction factor of a panel glass is expressed with (n), a horizontal pitch of a shadow mask slot is expressed with (p), an opening angle of a most outside line slot 2a against the center axis for connecting the exposing light source 6 and the center of the panel is expressed withθ, and the number of lines of inside slots, which is counted from the most outside slot line 2a, is expressed with N, the exposing light source 6, the shadow mask 2 and the panel 4 are arranged so as to satisfy the relation that Np= 2(L-g)t/L (n<2> -sin<2>θ0 ) <1/2> }sinθ0 , whereθ0 =tan<-1> (L-g)tanθ-Np}/(L-g).
