The invention concerns a printing method and device for printing copies in limited series, said method comprising the following successive steps: a) inputting the original document to be printed in a computer (100) memory equipped with a printing control and an image manipulating software; b) by means of said software, determining in the computer (100) a digital image corresponding to a reversed image of the original document according to a line symmetry; c) transmitting in the form of a digital command to a printing system said reversed digital image to a printing system (101, 102) which uses ink adapted to stencil duplication by partial pigment transport on paper moistened with a solvent, to produce a disposable matrix which is a negative print of the original document; d) using the disposable matrix in the printing system (101, 102) to produce the required number of copies; e) disposing of the matrix at the end of said stencil duplication process.
