A television receiver (100) in which analyzing means (6) collates the output from operating means (5) operated by the user with the output from television program timetable storage means (2), and detects free times between the programs that the user has watched. Schedule creating means (11) creates an operation schedule by considering the free times. Control means (13) records the last part of the program to be received and recorded unattendedly according to the operation schedule and reproduces the recorded program during the free time immediately before the time when the program is started next time, thus controlling reception, recording, and reproduction. Thus the television receiver (100) can warn the user about the start of the preselected program and allows the user to grasp the contents of the previous broadcast and to smoothly become involved with the program. |
