PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a photocatalytic body low costed and excellent in popularity while photocatalytic activity is improved by a method wherein an ultra-fine grained photocatalytic particle of a specified average particle size is bonded to porous powder to form a photocatalytic body, and the photocatalytic powder of a high specific surface area is bonded to a surface of wide use titanium oxide. SOLUTION: Porous powder is coated by an ultra fine-grained photocatalytic particle of 1 nm-0.1μm average particle size. Thereby, the specific surface area is raised to improve activity of the photocatalyst. Therefore, a use amount of the ultra fine- grained photocatalyst can be, as a whole, sharply decreased to make it inexpensive and excellent in popularity. Further the ultra fine-grained photocatalytic particle of 1 nm-0.1μm average particle size may be fitted in a pore of the porous powder. That is, a portion of the photocatalytic particle is fitted in the pore of the porous powder, and the remaining portion is coated by the photocatalytic powder of a large particle size or coloring matter, a dyestuff, and a pigment. The photocatalytic particle of the large particle size is titanium oxide of 1.15-10μm average particle diameter.
