A PAIR OF LINEAR MOVING FURNACES FOR REDUCING METALLIC OXIDE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facility in which consumption of energy required for performing a reduction of lumps is substantially reduced and possibility of re-oxidization of direct reduced iron is essentially eliminated. SOLUTION: There is provided a facility for reducing metallic oxide with a carbonaceous reducing agent in which a pair of furnaces 10 and 12 moving in a linear manner are installed. Each of the furnaces is provided with a feeding end 14 and a discharging end 16. Each of the furnaces has a row of sections 22 which can be separated. Each of the sections is separated at one discharging end 16 of the furnace and connected at the feeding end 14 of the other furnace.
