<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of achieving the enhancement of the whole throughput by reducing the changeover of an engine process. <P>SOLUTION: The printer for altering the engine process according to the kind of data has an engine process alteration detecting means for detecting whether the engine process is altered or not and a data order alteration means for altering the order of data so as to reduce the alteration of the engine process. Especially, the printer, which is constituted so as to alter engine process based on whether printing data is monochromatic or color, has a color/monochromatic mixed data detecting means for detecting whether monochromatic data and color data are mixed or not in the printing data accumulated in the printer and, when it is judged that color data and monochromatic data are mixed in the accumulated data by the color/monochromatic mixed data detecting means, the order of data is altered. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
