<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a data transfer time in the serial communication between the control unit and engine part of an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus constituted of the engine 320 equipped with a non-volatile memory and forming an image and the controller 310 for transmitting image data to the engine 320 through a video interface 340, when the image data are transferred to the engine part 320 from the controller part 310 to rewrite the non-volatile memory, the synchronism of the data transfer is taken on the basis of a production control signal for controlling the serial communication, and the non-volatile memory is rewritten on the basis of the synchronously transferred data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
