PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve such a problem that, in machining a fork for moving a speed change gear of an automobile, or the like, a support for supporting a tip 41 of the fork or the like causes machining deviation. SOLUTION: In machining on the tip 41 of a workpiece 40 with small rigidity at the tip 41, a support holds the tip 41 between a support body 10 or providing support from below and a pressure pin 20 for providing pressure from above to thus prevent machining deflection. A spring 11 arranged in the support body 10 is mounted thereon with a shaft 12. Near the shaft 12, a spin cylinder 13 is disposed to temporarily fix the position of the shaft 12. Adjoining the shaft 12, a lock body is disposed which comprises a center shaft 16a and a lock plate 17 turnable on the center shaft 16a. When the center shaft 16a of the lock body 15 is turned, a lock portion 18 of the lock plate 17 is brought into contact with the shaft 12, whereupon pressing force of the pressure pin 20 is used to cause the lock portion 18 to fixedly lock the shaft 12.
