PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent that a stay 7 disposed on an end frame 2 is deformed by fastening a through bolt and a flange part 6 is buckled. SOLUTION: The end frame 2 of a starting motor is provided with the flange part 6 having a hole 5 for inserting the through bolt, and a pair of stays 7 which are formed in a unified body with the flange part 6. The stays 7 are formed as struts which support the flange part 6 by making a yoke 1 a receiving surface to a fastening force of the through bolt, and bent almost rectangularly to the flange part 6. Trenches 8 are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the yoke 1, and tip parts 7a of the stays are fitted in the trenches 8. Thereby the tip parts 7a are regulated by the trenches 8, so that it can be obstructed that the stays 7 are deformed toward both sides along the outer peripheral surface of the yoke 1 by fastening the through bolt, when the end frame 2 is thinned for weight reduction. As a result, the flange part 6 can be prevented from being buckled.
