PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor of smaller with less weight. SOLUTION: The core of the armature is formed with silicon steel sheets and the like stamped out and machined, and by piling them up. 12 is a slot disposed with constant intervals along the periphery of the armature, in which a winding is inserted. 13 is the teeth of the core, at the tip of which a recess is formed. 14 is a wedge which is made of an insulating member formed with a synthetic paper and the like, of which the thermal expansion rate is relatively small. 15 is an insulator disposed in the inner surface of the slot, and 16 is the shaft of the armature. The wedge 14 of the insulating member which is arch-like and deflected toward the shaft side is disposed by inserting it into the recess 17. With such a configuration, the armature winding inserted in the slot 12 is prevented from coming-out of the slot 12 by centrifugal force by pressing it.
