PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication antenna which is capable of receiving or transmitting signals of mobile communication frequency bands with higher gains. SOLUTION: A ground plate 12 is provided on nearly all the surface of a circuit board 10, and a carrier 14 of dielectric is provided on the circuit board 10. A thin belt-like conductor 30 is formed into the U-shape on the carrier 14, and an annex 30a is provided to the one end of the opposed sides of the U-shaped conductor 30 on the open side from the one end toward the other end. A joint between the one end of the U-shaped conductor 30 and the annex 30a is electrically connected to the circuit board 10 with a feeder 20, and the other end of the U-shaped conductor 30 and the tip of the annex 30a are electrically connected to the ground plate 12 with ground connection wires 18 and 18 respectively. The electrical length of the open side of the U-shaped conductor 30 is set 1/8 as long as the wavelength of an operating frequency band, the electrical length of the side of the U-shaped conductor 30 sandwiched between its opposed sides is set 1/4 as long as the wavelength of an operating frequency band, and the electrical length of the annex 30a is set 0 to 1/8 as long as the wavelength of an operating frequency band. A matching circuit 32 is connected to the feeder 20.
