<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a customer to perform payment transaction by a foreign currency savings account with an automatic transaction device and to perform the payment transaction under favorable terms. <P>SOLUTION: In the automatic transaction device, when card information read by a card reader part 14 of an ATM 1 from a transaction card of the customer includes information indicating that he or she owns a foreign currency savings account, a control unit 25 of a host 2 compares an exchange rate the customer has set with an exchange rate set by a financial institution which is held in a higher order device and determines whether or not payment by cash from the foreign currency savings account is favorable.
