PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of a game machine capable of normally controlling variable display without obstructing the control even when a pattern stop command can not be received on a control board for display though the end timing of the variable display comes. SOLUTION: In the case that the pattern stop command is not received on the control board for the display even when the end timing of the variable display specified by a variation pattern specifying command comes, the variable display can not be ended on the control board for the display. In this case, the control board for the display continues the display of making a stop pattern specified by a stop pattern specifying command go back and forth inside pertinent display areas 3a1-3c3, so-called moving display of wandering to the left and right, until the pattern stop command is received from a main control board. Thus, even in the case that the pattern stop command can not be received on the control board for the display, the variable display is normally controlled without obstructing the control.
