The present invention disclosing a broadcast mode switching method of MBMS service, a terminal handover method, a base station and a network can realize MBMS service with high efficiency. The broadcast mode switching method of MBMS service in the present invention comprises: triggering the switching from the current broadcast mode to the target broadcast mode, during the switching the base station assigning the network resource for the target broadcast mode, releasing the network resource of the current broadcast mode, and broadcasting the MBMS service according to the target broadcast mode. The present invention ensures the continuity and dependability of the MBMS service during the switching process between different broadcast modes. The present invention gives two methods of ready handover and unready handover for the broadcast mode switching during the base station handover.
