The exhaust-gas system (10) has an exhaust gas conditioning device (28) i.e. nitrogen oxide storage catalyzer, arranged in an exhaust gas routing system, which has two partial exhaust gas routing systems (16, 18) parallel to each other between the exhaust manifold and the exhaust gas conditioning device. An exhaust gas tube (20) is formed by the exhaust gas routing systems. The partial exhaust gas routing system has an exhaust gas cooling device (34). An exhaust flap (32) is provided for determining the exhaust gas flows through the partial exhaust gas routing systems.
