<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of reducing the space and the cost and improving a shielding property against electromagnetic waves or the like, an accessability to an electric board in the housing, and a maintenance property. <P>SOLUTION: An option box 12 having a function equal to that of a personal computer is attached to a metallic electric component case 11 accommodating all electric components such as a body control board and the like and they are housed in the apparatus body 10 so that a placement table for setting optional devices and an operation monitor can be obviated. The electric component case 11 is pivotally supported by the apparatus body 10, and then the electric component case 11 can be rotated together with the option box 12. The option box 12 has the function equal to that of a personal computer such as connectability to the Internet. The housing of the option box 12 is made of a metallic material and is united with a metallic electric component case 3 so that the earthing is reinforced and radiation of electromagnetic waves generated by electric component boards in the housing can be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
