An apparatus for controlling the power generation device for a hybrid vehicle is provided to improve the fuel efficiency of vehicles and the condensing efficiency of a battery. An apparatus for controlling the power generation device for a hybrid vehicle comprises a control unit which prescribes the operation state of a power generation device on the engine driving plane, calculates the operation efficiency of the power generation device in the state which the state of the each instrument constituting the power generation device is added to the optimum charged amount and charge/discharge state of a condensing device the each case of to a plurality of drive point candidates, and controls the operation state of the power generation device by using the calculated result.
