PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a practical solar cell which has superior durability to humidity.

SOLUTION: The solar cell includes a compound semiconductor-based solar cell element 6 which receives light rays to generate electric power, a gas barrier film 3 which covers the compound semiconductor-based solar cell element 6, and an ultraviolet-ray cutting film 2 which covers a light-receiving surface of the compound semiconductor-based solar cell element 6.
